I've long wondered why there hasn't ever been an art-based reality TV show...
Just today I was discussing this very issue with a good friend and colleague of mine named Jacob Thomas, who actually tipped me off about a possible upcoming TV series about that very topic.

It looks like the pitch is being driven by Sarah Jessica Parker, who made a guest appearance on last season's Project Runway.

Its about time that someone produced a show based on the visual arts. With Project Runway showcasing fashion, Top Chef showcasing culinary arts, and the various modeling and dancing shows the climate is prime for a visual arts showcase.
I am not sure of SJP fine art credentials, but her success in Television... Sex and the City.. and her fashion line... Bitten... prove she knows the industry and has an eye for trends
